Amazon Developing Tomb Raider Series, Film & Game Also In Works

Lara Croft is headed to the small screen, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge writing a Tomb Raider series for Amazon Prime Video. THR reports that Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Indiana Jones & The Dial of Destiny) is developing and writing the series, which is part of her overall deal with Amazon Studios. THE also reported that a film and a video game are in the works, all set within the same continuity.
Amazon is teaming with Dmitri M. Johnson’s dj2 Entertainment for the rights deal. The plan is to build an interconncted franchise between the various properties. The news comes after the planned sequel to the Alicia Vikander-starring Tomb Raider was cancelled due to the media rights expired.
Waller-Bridge is not expected to star in the film or series. There’s no word on when filming might take place on either live-action project.
