Anna Faris, Regina Hall Returning For Scary Movie Reboot

The Scary Movie franchise is returning with its core stars in Anna Faris and Regina Hall. As previously reported, Paramount Pictures’ reboot of the spoof horror comedy franchise is set to release on June 12th, 2026. It was announced on Friday (per THR that Faris and Hall will reprise their roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks in the film.
“We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” the two said in a joint statement.
The new film features a script by Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Ivory Wayans and Rick Alvarez. Michael Tiddes is directing the film, which will once again satirize the horror genre.
The Scary Movie franchise has grossed $896.6 million worldwide amongst the first five entries that released between 2000 and 2006. Faris and Hall starred in the first four films. The new film comes as The Naked Gun reboot has struck gold at the box office with $37.2 million domestically and $60.6 million worldwide in its first two weeks.
