Tommy Doyle is returning to the Halloween franchise, and this time he’ll be played by none other than Anthony Michael Hall. Variety reports that Hall (The Dead Zone, Breakfast Club) will play the role of Tommy, one of the children that Laurie Strode babysat in the original film, in the next sequel.

Longtime Halloween fans recognize Tommy Doyle for another part in the franchise, namely Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Paul Rudd played the role in that 1995 film, as he teamed with Dr. Loomis in the sixth film to put a stop to Michael who was at that point powered by the Druidic curse of Thorn, which made him immortal. Of course, last year’s Halloween erased the continuity of the sequels, so all of that is no more.

Hall joins Jamie Lee Curtis in the sequel, which David Gordon Green will be back to direct. Green also returned to co-write the film with Danny McBride. It will open on October 16th, 2020.
