Netflix has a major hit on its hands with Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, and has announced launching a VR experience this summer as well as the official score. Deadline reports that the film is set to be seen in over 72 million households in its first four weeks. That would put it in the top 10 Netflix original films of all-time. The #1 spot belongs to Extraction, which was viewed 99 million times in its first four weeks.
To no surprise, the streaming is looking to capitalize on that success. They announced on Friday that Viva Las Vengeance will launch in New York (tickets available June 3rd), Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Washington, DC. Tickets for all of the cities release on June 3rd.
The VR experience is described as follows:
BATTLE THE DEAD, SAVE THE LIVING
It’s our last stand against the undead! Our fellow citizens are trapped inside the walls of zombie-infested Las Vegas, and Las Vengeance is the only crew that is brave enough to try to get them out. As you might imagine, we’re going to need some extra hands if we want a fighting chance at succeeding. The plan: Get in. Rescue the survivors. Get out. No promises on that last part.
Our tactical taco truck is perfect for the job, so you and your squad will have the honor and privilege of putting it to good use. Just make sure you keep it in one piece, or you’ll be sitting ducks to those hungry Shamblers waiting outside.
The FAQ describes it as a “thrilling zombie-shooting game inside a motorized taco truck” that is 30 minutes long. Future cities “to be rescued” are Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, London, Paris, Madrid, and Berlin.
Finally, Waxwork Records will release the film’s official score in the fall. The announcement reads:
Waxwork Records, in partnership with Milan Records and Netflix, is proud to present ARMY OF THE DEAD Original Motion Picture Score! Directed by Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead (2004), Justice League) and with a fully electronic score by Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL (Godzilla Vs. Kong, Mad Max: Fury Road), ARMY OF THE DEAD is a 2021 American zombie heist film starring Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick, and Hiroyuki Sanada. The story follows a group of mercenaries who plan a Las Vegas casino heist amid a zombie apocalypse. In this new zombie-film follow up to Snyder’s 2004 Dawn of the Dead, the zombies are smarter, faster, and organized.
Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the score music to ARMY OF THE DEAD as a deluxe double LP album featuring never before seen interactive packaging with new artwork and design by Oliver Barrett. Listeners must tear open the screaming visage of Zeus, the film’s zombie leader, to reveal a locked vault door. The packaging then expands into a neon pink and yellow soaked triple gatefold which unlocks the vault to reveal a horde of Las Vegas zombies inside. As you continue opening the album packaging, and all zombies are killed, you’ll be greeted by Valentine, the film’s beloved (and first ever?) zombie tiger!
The score has been pressed to 180 gram neon pink and yellow vinyl and the album features exclusive liner notes from director Zack Snyder.

* 180 Gram Neon Pink Vinyl (Disc 1) and Neon Yellow Vinyl (Disc 2)
