Atlanta Screening Accidentally Shows Fifty Shades Freed Instead of Black Panther
Filmgoers attending an Atlanta showing of Black Panther initially got less than they bargained for over the weekend. Regal Cinema’s Atlantic Station theater was the site of appalled and amused reactions in one screening room late Thursday night when a packed theater to see the Marvel Cinematic Universe film for its late night previews and were instead shown the first few minutes of Fifty Shades Freed.
You can see a couple of videos posted to Twitter from the screening below. The audience reaction ranges from people busting up laughing to cries of “No!” as Fifty Shades’ opening scene begins. The theater quickly fixed the error, and five minutes later Black Panther began playing.
Black Panther dominated the box office over the weekend with $192 million over three days and a projected $225.7 million for the four-day weekend. Presumably, most of those showings didn’t involve Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
