Barbie, Oppenheimer & Succession Top 2024 SAG Award Nominations

The nominations for the 30th annual SAG Awards have been announced with Barbie, Oppenheimer and Succession leading the way. The nominees were unveiled on Wednesday for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which saw Succession earn the most nominations at five while the Barbenheimer duo earned four nods apiece to lead film.

Barbie and Oppenheimer were joined in the Best Cast for a Film category — roughly the Best Picture category for the SAG Awards — by American Fiction, The Color Purple, and Killers of the Flower Moon. The SAG Awards tend to be viewed as a strong influencer for who the frontrunners are for Oscar nominations and winners, as the guild makes up a hefty portion of the Academy and thus its voting block.

On the TV side, Succession shares the Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series category with The Crown, The Gilded Age and The Morning Show. The Comedy Series Cast side features last year’s winner Abbott Elementary along with Barry, The Bear, Only Murders in the Building and Ted Lasso.
