According to The Sun, actor Benedict Cumberbatch reportedly chased away four assailants as they mugged a cyclist in London. The incident took place near 221B Baker Street, fictional London home of detective Sherlock Holmes. The report says that Cumberbatch jumped out of his Uber and ran to the aid of the man working for food delivery company Deliveroo as the muggers attacked. Cumberbatch’s Uber driver commented…

“Benedict was courageous, brave and selfless. If he hadn’t stepped in the cyclist could have been seriously injured. “He asked the rider how he was and when he said, ‘I’m OK’ Benedict just hugged him.”

The police added the following details…

“One of the males attempted to grab the victim’s cycle … He was then punched in the face, struck on the head and hit with his helmet. Nothing was reported stolen. The victim did not require hospital treatment. No arrests have been made,”
