It’s time to head back to the sorority house for some holiday horror, as a Black Christmas remake is releasing in December. Blumhouse has announced that a remake of the 1974 classic holiday horror flick is on the way and will hit theaters on December 13th. You can check out the first poster below.

The film will star Imogen Poots (Green Room), Aleyse Shannon (Charmed), Brittany O’Grady (Star), Lily Donoghue (The Goldbergs, Jane the Virgin) and Caleb Eberhardt (Broadway’s Choir Boy). Sophia Takal (V/H/S) is directing from a script by April Wolfe.

The new film follows the story of the original, which centered on a sorority that was stalked by a killer named Billy. The new film is set at Hawthorne College, which is quieting down for the holidays. One by one, sorority girls on campus are being killed by an unknown stalker. But the killer is about to discover that this generation’s young women aren’t willing to become hapless victims as they mount a fight to the finish.

This would not be the first remake of the film, as Dimension released a loose remake in 2006 starring Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It was poorly received by fans and critics, and was a box office disappointment.
