CBS Gives Series Order to Silence of the Lambs Sequel Clarice

CBS is taking a trip into Silence of the Lambs territory, ordering their sequel show Clarice to series. THR reports that the broadcast network has ordered the series, which will air during the the 2020 to 2021 broadcast series.

Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars) will star as Clarice Starling in the show, which is set in 1993 which is a year after the events in Silence of the Lambs. Clarice returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C. in what its being called “a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling.”

The synopsis continues:

Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice graduated Magna from UVA with a double major in Psych and Criminology. Her bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. Her complex psychological makeup comes from a challenging childhood, and her drive comes from her need to escape the burden of family secrets that have haunted her throughout her life.

Kal Penn, Nick Sandow and The Walking Dead alum Michael Cudlitz also star in the series, which is written and executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet.
