Charlie Cox has reprised his role as Daredevil in the MCU, and he recently weighed in on whether it’s a different version of the character from the Netflix series. Cox played the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk, and will be headlining the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again which streams on Disney+ next year. Speaking with iNews, Cox talked about the upcoming series and more; you can check out some highlights below.

On the character as compared to the Netflix series: “I don’t think it’s a different character. I just think it’s maybe a different period of his life. I don’t think my interpretation will change — they hired the same actor. We’re saying this is a whole new … era, or variant?” He pauses for a moment. “I haven’t read the scripts, so I don’t know. But like, it’s part of the multiverse?”

On how he’ll play the role: “The only way I’ll change is if, tonally, the show is very different.”

On the series sharing a name with the iconic Born Again story arc: “I don’t think anyone should read into the name as to the kind of stories that we’re going to tell.”
