Chris Evans Joins The Rock In Holiday Action-Comedy Red One

Chris Evans has signed up to join Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the upcoming holiday action-comedy Red One. Deadline reports that the MCU star has signed on to a leading role in the Amazon Studios film alongside Johnson.

Production will kick off this year on the film, which is set to release in 2023. No word on the plot yet, though it is described as a four-quadrant (i.e. multi-demographic targeting) globe-trotting, action-adventure comedy that imagines a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.

Jake Kasdan (the Jumanji sequels) will direct and produce the film from a script by Chris Morgan, based on a story conceived by Hiram Garcia.
