CNN Developing Documentary About Anthony Bourdain
CNN has a documentary in the works about the late Anthony Bourdain. The film could release in theaters next year, CNN officials told Vanity Fair.
Bourdain, known for cooking shows like No Reservations and his CNN travel guide series Parts Unknown, died in a Kaysersberg, France hotel room in June. Bourdain, who was filming an episode of Parts Unknown in the city, hanged himself . CNN will air a final, truncated season of the show this fall.
CNN officials told the outlet that there’s “still a hunger to know more about” Bourdain. The documentary, which will be “the definitive Bourdain feature documentary,” is in the early stages of development and comes from CNN and Zero Point Zero, who produced Parts Unknown.
CNN executive vice president for talent and content Amy Entelis said, “We want to make it perfect. We want to make it exquisite for Tony. We want to do him justice.”
