Welcome back! I’m Steve Gustafson and if you enjoy discussing anything comic book related, you’ve come to the right place. Each week we cover something in the industry and I always enjoy your input in the comment section below.

Last time we discussed our Favorite DC Superhero Team Here’s what some of you had to say:

Excollector: “While I think the JLA was always a powerhouse team, I’ve leaned more to JSA for the simple love of the Golden Age version of the heroes and the fact that eventually they were allowed to age and pass on their mantles to a younger generation. Captain Carrot and the Amazing Zoo Crew was a ton of fun sometimes and I have Ostrander’s run of Suicide Squad all in TPB but overall I don’t think anything at DC came close to Peter David’s run of Young Justice. The team had room to grow and showcase without major interference the way JLA often suffered and was fun to read.”

Tayo Jones: “I love the JSA.”

Ken Wood: “Green Lantern Corps.
Growing up, I was a huge fan of Hal Jordan and his Green Lantern. After his death and Kyle’s reign as the Lantern, then Hal’s return and the birth of all the newer, different Lanterns, I’ve really become a fan of the Green Lantern Corps over just Hal Jordan as Green Lantern. In fact, Hal has become one of the least interesting Lanterns, to me. I recently picked up Far Sector. It’s great to see the different Lanterns all over the universe and I really wish DC would do them justice with some movies or a TV show.”

GaryG: “Gail Simone’s Secret Six. One of the best parts of the New 52 and they should have kept them around”

tw75: “For me it has to be the Authority. The work of Ellis then Millar and Hitch in creating the team from Stormwatch was so well done and was a zeitgeist moment in superhero teams. Without the Authority we wouldn’t of had the Ultimates, which may have serious altered the presentation of the Agengers in the MCU.”

Steed: “I like you always had a soft spot for Legion of Superheroes.

Suicide Squad was also a great take from showing another point of view from some of the DC rogues gallery which was refreshing when it was first published in its early run.”

DarthDaver: “The lack of love for Section 8 is disappointing. A team with powers as diverse as “the power of perversion” (Bueno Excellente), “the power of frenchness” (Jean de Baton Baton), or simply “welds dogs to people” (Dogwelder). Fantastic stuff.”

Mondo Von Wer: “4 words…Long Live the Legion! Diehard LSH fan since 1980. The Subs, The Wanderers, The Heroes of Lallor, L.E.G.I.O.N. love em all!

Super Friends / Super Powers Team, Justice League, Justice Society, Teen Titans. They’re all good too!”

Wrestling Fan: “My top 5 –
5: Young Justice
4: Inferior 5
3: LoSH
2: JSA
1: Justice League Antarctica”

JackOfClubs: “Midnight Sons 4 (un)Life”

Cactus: “It was pretty short lived by I enjoyed the somewhat unofficial team of the Gotham Knights from James Tynion IV’s run on Detective comics. The attempt to rehabilitate Clayface into a hero was both enthralling and heartbreaking. Having Azrael and Batwing as a sort of yin yang pair of faith and science was thought provoking. Batwoman kicking ass and mentoring the younger folk in Orphan, Spoiler, and Duke only to betray what they felt was a shared moral code was incredible (I would pay good money for just an entire issue of Batwoman and Cass Cain fighting on the rooftops of Gotham). Just a fantastic run that sadly was ended when JTIV was poached for a very strange and convoluted Justice League story arc”

“Filthy” Jake Fury: “#1 for me is Secret Six. From the group coming together during Infinite Crisis and the entire Simone run. That book is probably top 3 all time for me.

Authority
Suicide Squad
JLA
JSA

All these teams had great runs at some point and are too close to call for me.”

Great stuff and thank you to everyone who commented last week! This week we ask…

Who Will Be the Final Member of the X-Men in 2022?

Who’s looking forward to voting? Voting for who will be the last X-Men team member that is.

Last January Marvel asked readers to help choose the last member of the core X-Men superhero team that debuted in Gerry Duggan and Pepe Larraz’s X-Men series. The winner? Polaris. Looks like they’ll be doing it again this year.

Marvel announced that fans will select the final member of “one of the most iconic teams” in X-Men history, (the “newest protectors of Krakoa”) and you can vote now until 11:59 pm ET on Thursday, January 13 at marvel.com/xmenvote. Each participant can only vote one time.

The winner, along with the full X-Men team, will be unveiled during Marvel’s now second annual Hellfire Gala in June.

Take a look at the nominees and let me know who has your vote below.

Firestar got mine.

That’s all the time I have. See you next week!
