Daisy Ridley Says Rise of Skywalker Ending Will Not Be Game of Thrones-Level Controversial

If there are two things than fans of genre storytelling generally have very strong opinions about, it’s Star Wars and Game of Thrones. Fans love or hate every part of both of them and will happily argue endlessly. But from the sounds of it, we’ll at least have less to argue about regarding The Rise of Skywalker than we did over the HBO series’ very polarizing series finale.

At least, that’s what Daisy Ridley says. Ridley spoke with MTV News at D23 Expo and was asked about her getting caught up on Thrones, something she’s been desperately behind on. Ridley acknowledged that she was up to season four but had already found out how the show ends. When asked about whether Skywalker will be as controversial as Daenerys’ heel turn, who ultimately became King of the Seven Kingdoms and the rest, she said, “I think this ending will be less controversial [than Thrones].

We’ll know for sure when Rise of Skywalker opens on December 20th.
