Darren Lynn Bousman Says Saw Reboot Has Scene That Rivals the Needle Pit

September 16, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

One of the most horrifying scenes in the Saw franchise involves a pit of hyperdemic needles, and the director of the latest film says that it has a scene with rivals that. Darren Lynn Bousman took to Twitter to hype up the new film, referencing the shudder-worthy scene that takes place in Saw II as a point of reference and saying the new scene “makes me want to take a shower.”

The new take was based on a story by Chris Rock and stars him alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella, and Marisol Nichols. Bousman directed the film, which sees Rock play a police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes, and Samuel L. Jackson will play Rock’s father. Minghella will play William Schenk, Rock’s partner on the police force, and Nichols will play Capt. Angie Garza, Rock’s boss.

The as-yet-unnamed installment opens in theaters on May 15th, 2020.
