Dave Bautista Cast As Villain In Aang: The Last Airbender Animated Film

Dave Bautista is heading into the world of elemental benders, joining the cast of the animated Aang: The Last Airbender movie. Variety reports that the Dune and Guardians of the Galaxy star has joined the cast of Nickelodeon’s animated film, voicing a villain role. The news was announced at CinemaCon. Eric Nam has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.

The two join Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Roman Zaragoza in the animated film, which is set to release on October 10th, 2025 through Paramount. Lauren Montgomery is directing along with William Mata, while franchise creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are executive producing alongside Eric Coleman. Plot details are being kept under wraps.

The original series ran from 2005 through 2008 and spawned the spinoff animated sequel series The Legend of Korra. A live-action film from M. Night Shyamalan flopped in 2010, while a live-action adaptation of the series bowed on Netflix in February and has been renewed for two more seasons.
