Legendary’s Street Fighter movie has found its lead villain, with David Dastmalchian set to play M. Bison in the film. Deadline reports that the Late Night With the Devil and Life of Chuck star will play the big bad in the upcoming video game adaptation.
Dastmalchian joins an eclectic cast that includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Noah Centineo as Ken, 50 Cent as Balrog, country singer Orville Peck as Vega, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Andrew Koji as Ryu, and Callina Liang as Chun Li. Kitao Sakurai is directing the film, which will begin production in August in Australia.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for the film, which Legendary and Capcom are co-producing. It is the latest adaptation of the classic video game franchise following the 1994 Jean Claude Van Damme-starring version and 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li that starred Kristin Kreuk as the titular fighter.
Among Dastmalchian’s other recent credits are William Borden in Oppenheimer, Lester Billings in The Boogeyman, Piter De Vries in Dune and Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad.
