Variety reports that Aaron and Adam Nee will direct the live-action film based on Masters of the Universe for Mattel and Sony Pictures. Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch will produce with DeVon Franklin. David Goyer, who is also an executive producer, wrote the script. He was in talks to direct but dropped out back in February. He is said to be “extremely involved” in the pre-production process. The film arrives on December 18, 2019. Matt Milan will oversee for Sony.

It’s based on the Mattel toyline which resulted in three animated shows and a 1987 live action movie starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor. It follows the story of Prince Adam, who turns into He-Man to battle the evil forces of Skeletor and protect Eternia.
