Disney+ Announces Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars MCU Series
Disney’s Investor Day presentation gave us a whole grip of new MCU series announcements including Secret Invasion, Ironheart and Armor Wars. The company announced that the three news series are coming to Disney+ going forward.
Secret Invasion will see Samuel L. Jackson return as Nick Fury, while Ben Mendelsohn will reprise his role as Talos from Captain Marvel. While plot details have yet to be announced, it is assumedly based on the “Secret Invasion” event from 2008 that revealed that Skrulls had invaded Earth for years and were impersonating several superheroes along with regular everyday people.
Ironheart will star Dominque Thorne (If Beale Street Could Talk) as Riri Williams, the genius teen inventor who adapts Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor into her own suit in the comics after Stark was put into a coma after the events of the Civil War II event.
And finally, Armor Wars will star Don Cheadle as James Rhodes aka War Machine. Based on the 1987 to 1988 event in Iron Man written by Bob Layton and David Michelinie, the series will see Stark’s tech “fall into the wrong hands.”
The new series are among the many announcements that Disney made during their Investor Day presentation. You can see the logos for the series below.
