Disney is reportedly close to picking up Martin Scorsese’s Hawaii-set crime film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt. As previously reported, the trio of actors are set to star in the film based on a true story about a Hawaiian crime boss who fought for control of the island’s organized crime. Deadline reports that according to sources, Disney is close to the deal for the package, which could potentially find a home under Disney’s 20th Century Studios banner.

The film’s pitch was written by Nick Bilton and its central character is based on Wilford “Nappy” Pulawa, who led the largest crime syndicate on the Hawaiian Islands during the 1970s called The Company. The Company’s criminal enterprises included gambling, human trafficking, marijuana trafficking and labor corruption. Pulawa ended up charged with two murders and did 15 years in prison for tax evasion in 1973. He was released in 1984.

Scorsese, Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette and Rick Yorn and Chris Donnelly, the latter from LBI Entertainment, will produce.
