The merger between Disney and Fox is set to close by this time next Wednesday. THR reports that Disney CEO Bob Iger expects Disney’s acquisition of large parts of 21st Century Fox to become effective as of March 20th at 12:02 ET.

The deal will put 20th Century Fox (the movie studio) and Fox Television, along with the studio’s IPs — which, of course, include Marvel’s X-Men and Fantastic Four, along with Avatar, Alien, Predator, Die Hard, Kingsman, The Simpsons, X-Files and many more.

It must be said: while the acquisition is taking place before Avengers: Endgame releases, there is virtually zero chance it will have any impact on any surprise cameos in that film, as the movie is locked in at this point. It is also unlikely that we will see a lot of Marvel announcements right away, as the studio will have to take time to fully develop plans and ideas.

Disney signed a deal to acquire the company for $71.3 billion back in June of last year, fending off an attempt by Comcast to by the assets.
