Disney Dominates Most Anticipated 2019 Films: Avengers, Captain Marvel, Star Wars, More

Disney is the king when it comes to the most anticipated films of 2019 thanks to films like Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: Episode IX. Fandango has posted their list of the films fans are most looking forward to, and the list includes seven out of ten films from the studio that brought us Mickey Mouse. That list includes the fourth Avengers film, the ninth Star Wars and Captain Marvel, along with three live action adaptations of Disney classics in The Lion King, Dumbo and Aladdin. Toy Story 4 rounds out the list for Disney, though you could argue they have an eighth entry as well with Spider-Man: Far From Home which is a Sony/Marvel production.

The list was compiled from 3,500 fans who voted for the films they were most looking forward to on the ticketing service’s websitre. The only two non-Disney-associated films are Glass, which is a Universal production, and Warner Bros.’ Joker film. Even then, Disney’s Buena Vista International is handling overseas distribution on Glass, and the David Dunn and Elijah Price characters come from Disney subsidiary Touchstone Films’ Unbreakable.

Notable ommisions from the list include Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, John Wick 3: Parabellum, It: Chapter Two, Frozen 2, and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. The full top ten is below:
