We reported in December of last year that Walt Disney Studios made a $52.4 billion (eventually increased to $55.5 billion) offer to acquire most of the assets of Fox, including the 20th Century Fox studio. That would mean that Marvel would have the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four again, among other properties being moved over. Back in June, Comcast made an offer of their own, pledging $65 billion cash to buy the studio and its assets. Now CNBC reports that Disney is planning to add cash to its all-stock original offer, although it’s unknown how much cash they’ll be adding.

Fox will hold a shareholders meeting tomorrow to talk about the Disney deal and Comcast’s offer. If they decide to go with Comcast, Disney will have five days to match it.

In addition to the movie studio, the deal is also for networks National Geographic and FX, Star TV, stakes in Sky, Endemol Shine Group and Hulu as well as regional sports networks.
