Disney+ is already in early work on a spin-off series out of the upcoming Hawkeye series, focused on the deaf superhero of Echo. Variety reports that the streamer is in early development on the spin-off, which will focus on Alaqua Cox’s character form the Hawkeye show. Etan and Emily Cohen will write and executive produce the project, which already has a writer’s room put together.

Echo is Maya Lopez, an Indigenous American and was created by David Mack and Joe Quesada. She made her debut in 1999’s Daredevil #9 and has photographic reflexes, able to perfectly copy any physical movement she sees. She was the first character to take up the Ronin persona before Clint Barton took it up.

Alaqua is playing Echo in the Hawkeye series, which stars Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld as Clint Barton and Kate Bishop. Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova from Black Widow and Tony Dalton and Zahn McClarnon will also appear. Hawkeye will premiere this fall.
