The DC Comics-inspired Pennyworth will be back for a second go-around. Deadline has announced that the series, which centers on the early days of Batman’s famed butler and aide Alfred Pennyworth, has been renewed for a second season. The next run will follow the first in consisting of 10 episodes, and will film at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK starting in January.

The series stars Jack Bannon as Alfred, a former British SAS soldier in his twenties, who forms a security company and goes to work with a young billionaire by the name of Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge). Taking place in a 1960s London, Pennyworth finds Batman’s future father figure and confidant engaging in a series of dangerous missions that, should he fail, will change the course of history as we know it.

Epix head Michael Wright recently said the show “has been a big hit for us, embraced by critics and fans alike. It was the highest-performing original series ever to premiere on Epix, more than doubling the viewership of the shows that came before it. Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and WBTV have delivered a brilliant, must-watch series. We can’t wait to work with this phenomenal cast and creative team on another exciting season.”
