Everything Everywhere All at Once Tops 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards

Everything Everywhere All at Once was the big winner at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards. The award ceremony took place on Sunday night, airing on The CW, with the Daniels-directed action comedy-drama winning the most awards with five victories. The film won the awards for Best Director (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Best Editing, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), then capped off the night with a Best Picture win.

While Everything Everywhere won the most awards, a few other films held up nicely as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, RRR, and Tár all picked up two wins apiece. Glass Onion won Best Drama and Best Acting Ensemble, while Wakanda Forever had wins for Best Supporting Actress (Angela Bassett) and Best Costume Design. RRR won Best Foreign Film and Best Song, while Tár won awards for Best Actress (Cate Blanchett) and Best Score. Other big film category wins were Brendan Fraser, who won Best Actor for his role in The Wale, and Avatar: The Way of Water winning Best Visual Effects.

Meanwhile, the television side saw Better Call Saul win the most awards with three. The final season of the AMC drama won Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama (Bob Odenkirk), and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama (Giancarlo Esposito). The Roku Channel got a couple of awards for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, which took home Best Movie Made for Television and Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television (Daniel Radcliffe). Abbott Elementary and The Dropout also took home two wins each.
