Netflix has a big hit with Extraction, which ranks as its most popular original film of all-time. Netflix has revealed (via Bloomberg) its list of the most popular original movies over their first four weeks of release, and the Chris Hemsworth-starring action-thriller ranks at the top with 99 million views.

The Russo Brothers-produced movie tops 2018’s Bird Box as the top film. Bird Box, which stars Sandra Bullock, racked up 89 million viewers in its first four weeks of release. The rest of the films are 2019 or 2020 releases, with Mark Wahlberg’s Spenser Confidential (85 million), the Ryan Reynolds-starring Michael Bey film 6 Underground (83 million) and the Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston comedy Murder Mystery (73 million) closing out the top five. The full top 10 is below.

Netflix has traditionally been very secretive about its viewing statistics, and as a caveat there is some question about how it counts “views.” The service considers a view anyone who has watched at least two minutes of a film, so these numbers by no means suggest that the films are hits in every capacity. Netflix is already at work at a sequel to Extraction, which Joe Russo returning to write the second film.
