Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

The third film in the Fantastic Beasts franchise is finally moving ahead, and will shoot starting early next year. Deadline reports that the film has set a spring of 2020 start date for production on the third entry in the Harry Potter spin-off franchise, with a November 12th, 2021 release date staked out.

The film was originally set to shoot starting in July, but was pushed out after Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was a had a successful but disappointing box office take in 2018. The third film will be set in Rio de Janeiro and Jessica Williams will reprise her role from part two as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, from Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the American equivalent of Hogwarts, is an expanded capacity.

Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Ezra Miller, and Katherine Waterston are all set to return to the franchise, with David Yates once again directing.
