Filming Begins on Game of Thrones Prequel Pilot
Game of Thrones only finished up a month ago, and HBO has already started its dive back into Westeros. EW reports that production has begun on the pilot for the as-yet-untitled Game of Thrones prequel series. The production has returned to Northern Ireland, which was the production location for the series and served as the location for the Kingsroad, Winterfell and more.
The new prospective series stars Naomi Watts and Miranda Richardson, and takes place thousands of years before main series. It “chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know.”
The show has not yet been officially picked up to series. Game of Thrones aired its last episode last month.
