Death lives to slay again, with the Final Destination set to receive a seventh film on the success of Final Destination: Bloodlines. Deadline reports that New Line has tapped Lori Evans Taylor, who co-wrote Bloodlines, to write the seventh film in the franchise.

The news comes after Bloodlines became a high point for the 25 year-old supernatural horror franchise, scoring the series’ highest critical marks as well as big money with $138.1 million domestically and $285.3 million worldwide on a $50 million budget. Plot details on the new film are under wraps; Bloodlines opened up a new avenue for bloodshed as Death was shown to have been targeting the family members of those who had previously survived the accidents that kicked off each film.

Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle and Toby Emmerich are all back to produce the new film, with Warren Zide servicing as executive producer.

Despite some lows toward the end of its original five-movie run, the series has been a huge one for New Line and has grossed a total of $953.3 million worldwide against a combined production budget of $204 million.
