Gael Garcia Bernal’s lucha libre biopic Cassandro had its premiere at Sundance, and a first clip has been released online. Amazon Studios released the following clip from the film on Monday, with Saúl Armendáriz (Bernal) showing his resistance to becoming an exotico wrestler — the role he would eventually embrace as Cassandro.

The film is directed by Roger Ross Williams from a script he co-wrote with David Teague. It stars Bernal, Roberta Colindrez, Perla De La Rosa, Joaquín Cosío, and Raúl Castillo and is described as follows:

Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler from El Paso, rises to international stardom after he creates the character Cassandro, the “Liberace of Lucha Libre.” In the process, he upends not just the macho wrestling world, but also his own life.
