The Grabber is back in the first trailer for The Black Phone 2. Blumhouse released the first trailer on Sunday to the sequel to the 2022 Scott Derricksen-directed supernatural horror hit, and you can see it below.

The trailer picks up four years after the events of the first film, with The Grabber (Ethan Hawke) having died at the hands hands of Finney (Mason Thames). However, as the serial killer says in the new trailer, “dead is just a word” as he seems to be carrying on his child-murdering activities from beyond the grave as he contacts Finney through a new phone at a wintery youth camp.

The film is once again directed by Derrickson, who co-wrote the film with C. Robert Cargill once more. It stars Hawke, Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and Demián Bichir and is described as follows:

Four years ago, 13-year-old Finn killed his abductor and escaped, becoming the sole survivor of The Grabber. But true evil transcends death… and the phone is ringing again.
