Fox has cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine after five seasons, but it may find another home in Hulu. TV Line reports that the network cancelled the Andy Sanberg-led ensemble police comedy. The move is somewhat of a surprise; while the show has been low-rated, it has remained strong particularly in the spring, where its been Fox’s highest-rated live-action comedy. 411’s official Renewal Predictions had it tentatively predicted for renewal.

That said, it may not the end. Following news of its cancellation, fan reaction has been (to say the least) strong. The show is the top-trending topic on social media on Thursday with such names as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Hamill and Guillermo del Toro calling for its rescue. Perhaps in part because of that — and because of its strong history of critical accolades — Deadline reports that there has been interest in several other outlets, with Hulu the most likely contender. TBS, Netflix, and NBC are also considered potential candidates for a new home, but with Hulu containing SVOD rights it is the more likely home.
