Hugh Jackman’s days as Wolverine are over, but he still looks back on it fondly as evidenced by a post paying tribute to Logan on its third anniversary. The film opened on this day in 2017 and was a huge hit, ending the saga of Wolverine under Fox’s tenure. Posting to Instagram, Jackman called Wolverine “the role of a lifetime” as you can see below.

Jackman played the character starting with the first live-action X-Men film in 2000 all the way to 2017; to this day, he is still the sole actor to play the role in a live-action capacity (with the exception of Troye Sivan as young Logan in X-Men: Origins – Wolverine).
