Incredibles 2 Sets Thursday Night Preview Record For Animated Film
Coming Soon reports that Disney and Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 set the record for a Thursday night preview for an animated film with $18.5 million. This beat the record set by Finding Dory ($9.2 million). It beats the numbers set by Beauty and the Beast ($16.3 million), Thor: Ragnarok ($14.5 million) and Solo: A Star Wars Story ($14.1 million).
The film was written and directed by Brad Bird. It features the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Samuel L. Jackson, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Jonathan Banks, Sophia Bush, Isabella Rossellini and Brad Bird. It will be released on June 15.
Here’s a synopsis: Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in Incredibles 2 – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
