Into the Spider-Verse has no shortage of Spider-Man characters, and producer Chris Miller may have teased a fan favorite to debut in the sequel. Miller posted to Twitter in response to a comment from fellow producer Chris Lord about needing a mask to better fit his face, sharing a picture of Silk as you can see below.

The exchange is a vague tease at best, and could well just be the two having a bit of fun. That said, Silk’s arrival would be a welcome addition for fans of the character, who was created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos and first appeared in that 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man #1. Silk is th ealias of Cindy Moon, a Korean-American girl who was bitten by the same spider who gave Peter Parker his powers. Before she became known to anyone, a man named Ezekiel Sims located her and offered his help to teach her how to use her powers. After training for some time, Ezekiel locked her in a bunker to protect her from Morlun, a member of an immortal family known as The Inheritors who subsist on the life force of “Spider-Totems” such as Spider-Man and Cindy. This eventually led into the comic book event from which Into the Spider-Verse gets its name, which Silk played a big part in.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is currently set to releazse on October 7, 2022. Plot details are not yet known.
