J.K. Simmons is booking a trip to Neptune, California. TV Line reports that Simmons will play a recurring role on the Veronica Mars revival. Simmons will play Clyde Prickett, is an ex-con who served ten years for racketeering. He offered protection to Big Dick Casablancas (David Starzyk) during Dick’s first day in prison and now works as Dick’s fixer. He is described as “the smarter and more dangerous of the pair, and he has a network of fellow ex-cons he can count on to keep his own hands clean.”

Simmons joins
a cast that includes Kristen Bell (Veronica), Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars), Jason Dohring (Logan Echolls), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Max Greenfield (Leo D’Amato), Patton Oswalt (Penn Epner), and Francis Capra (Eli “Weevil” Navarro), plus recurring players Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas), Clifton Collins Jr., and Izabela Vidovic. The series will run eight episodes.

Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
