Titania is joining the MCU, with The Good Place’s Jameela Jamil set to play the character in She-Hulk. Variety reports that Jamil, who played Tahani Al-Jamil on the critically-loved NBC series, will play the supervillain in the upcoming Marvel Disney+ series.

Titania is Mary MacPherran in the comics, who is actually the second person to take on the name (the first, Davida DeVito, was the leader of The Grapplers and was killed by the Scourge of the Underworld). Mary was a scrawny woman until she was gifted with superhuman powers by Doctor Doom to become Titania during the Secret Wars arc in 1984. She became a supervillain and ended up in a relationship with Absorbing Man, which continues to this day. As a villain she was a regular foe of She-Hulk’s and had stints in the Masters of Evil and Frightful Four. In recent years, Titania and Absorbing Man have regularly attempted to quit being supervillains and Titania even enlisted She-Hulk’s help to do so on one occasion.

Jameela Jamil joins the series alongside star Tatiana Maslany in the titular role along with Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga, and Tim Roth — the latter reprising his role as Emil Blonsky/Abomination. Mark Ruffalo will also appear as Bruce Banner, Jennifer Walters’ cousin and of course the original hulk.

Jessica Gao wrote and developed the series, which is directed by Kat Cairo and Anu Valia.
