James Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli says the next film is no less than two years away, noting that it will be a “reinvention” of the character. Broccoli spoke with Deadline and said that the next film won’t begin filming for “at least two years.” She added that casting for the new 007 hasn’t begun “because it’s a reinvention of Bond.”

“Nobody’s in the running,” Broccoli said at a private event in London. “We’re working out where to go with him, we’re talking that through. There isn’t a script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next film because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing who he is and that takes time. I’d say that filming is at least two years away.”

Daniel Craig’s run as Bond came to a close with last year’s No Time to Die, which put a definitive end on that iteration of the character. The film grossed $774.2 million worldwide, putting a successful capper on the Craig run that began with Casino Royale in 2006.
