Director James Wan and co-star Patrick Wilson spoke with ComingSoon.net about the possible directions for Aquaman 2. The two had thoughts on how the potential sequel may play out for Arthur (Jason Momoa) and Orm (Wilson), as you can see below.

Warning: Spoilers for Aquaman follow.

Wan on how Arthur will adapt to being King of Atlantis: “I think he would adapt in the way Jason Momoa would adapt to it. So if you think about how Jason would do it, with his odd sort of personality, I think that gives you a potential impression of what it could be. A guy that plays by his own rules and doesn’t quite belong, and does things his own way. So that kind of stuff is always fun to fantasize about what it could be.”

Wilson on whether Orm will become more of an ally to Arthur a la Loki and Thor: “I see the similarity in that not unlike Loki you’ll have a guy that you can trust up to a point. I think when someone is blood-related, and obviously both have a lot of love for their mother and you see that, and they wish that they had met under other circumstances… I think you’ll always have a very strong bond between Arthur and Orm. How that can work out, your guess is as good as mine. But I think they could work together, I do. I’m saying that as a fan, not as someone who knows something or because there are so many storylines, but because I’m sure even if you worked together, there’d be some point where it just didn’t work out again. I mean, he’s a tough one to trust, but that moment at the end is so, so, so important, and I think earned, that he has with Atlanna and with Arthur, and Arthur’s last words to him.”
