Jason Momoa is under no illusions about the fact that not all his films have been great, and he singled out the 2011 Conan The Barbarian as one example. Momoa starred as the titular character in the Marcus Nispel-directed reboot of the character, which garnered poor reviews and bombed at the box office with $63.5 million worldwide against a $90 million budget. Speaking with British GQ for a recent interview, Momoa said he loved the experience but that it was not a good film.

“I’ve been a part of a lot of things that really sucked, and movies where it’s out of your hands,” Momoa said. “Conan was one of them. It’s one of the best experiences I had and it [was] taken over and turned into a big pile of s**t.”

Momoa didn’t specify what happened on the film, which also starred Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Ron Perlman, Steven O’Donnell, and Morgan Freeman. He’s gone on from there to have a much more successful career of course, including playing Aquaman in the DCEU and Duncan Idaho in Dune. He will join the Fast & Furious franchise in Fast X, which releases next year.
