Jim Parsons Reportedly Why The Big Bang Theory Is Ending

As we previously reported, CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory will end its run after twelves seasons, with the final season premiering on September 24 at 8 PM ET. Entertainment Weekly reports that the show is ending because Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper, was ready to leave. After he voiced his decision, CBS and Warner Bros. TV made the decision to end the show.

Parsons makes almost a million per episode along with Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg. He was likely to make over $50 million including profits if he agreed to stick around for two more years.
