Johnny Depp has filed legal documents in the defamation suit against The Sun in which he claims to have proof he didn’t hit Amber Heard. TMZ reports that the motion was filed in the UK and is in relation to an article by The Sun that called him a “wife-beater” in reference to an alleged altercation between Depp and Heard in May of 2016.

Heard claimed that Depp through a phone at her head and them hit her, with the actress having taken pictures of her injuries. and then pummeled her and she took photos of her injuries. Depp’s legal team cites two police who responded to the incident and gave depositions saying they saw no injuries on Heard, and incluies witness statements who say they saw Heard after the incident and saw no bruising until six days later. One witness additionally states that she saw no smashed glass in their apartment despite photos Heard took of broken glass that Depp allegedly broke.

The documents further state that there is security camera footage of the four days after the attack which show no injuries on Heard’s face. Depp says in the filing that the Sun “must have made a positive decision to present a totally one-sided picture, leaving out my side of the story and pretending it either did not exist or was not worth considering.”

Depp’s lawyer told TMZ, “The dozens of Eastern Columbia Building security camera video files we recently obtained, coupled with multiple newly obtained eyewitness affidavits and sworn depositions taken in 2016, leave no doubt that Amber Heard faked the abuse claims that underpin the Sun’s defamation against Mr. Depp.” Again, Heard maintains Depp struck her with a phone and his hands.Johnny Depp has just filed legal docs citing new evidence that he never beat then-wife Amber Heard … a claim she made during their acrimonious divorce.
