Jon Bernthal To Reprise The Punisher For Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The Punisher is set to cross paths with Peter Parker as Jon Bernthal has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. THR reports that Bernthal has signed onto the fourth film in the MCU Spider-Man franchise, returning again to the role of Frank Castle.

Bernthal joins Tom Holland and Sadie Sink as confirmed cast members for the film, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon expected to return as MJ and Ned. Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the new film, which like the others is being released by Sony through its agreement with Marvel. Plot details are being kept under wraps for the movie, which will release on July 31st, 2026.

Bernthal originated the MCU incarnation of the Punisher in Daredevil season two on Netflix before going on to star in his own Netflix series. He returned to play the character in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again and is expected to be back for the second season.
