Jon Bernthal To Reprise Role As The Punisher In Daredevil: Born Again

Jon Bernthal is getting back into Frank Castle mode, as he will reprise his role as The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again. THR reports that Bernthal, who played the role of the Marvel vigilante in the Netflix Marvel shows including his own eponymous series, will return to the role for the upcoming Disney+ series. He joins Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who are reprising their own roles as Daredevil and The Kingpin.

Matt Corman and Chris Ord are writing and executive producing the series, which begins filming in New York this month. The series will be a hefty 18 episodes.

Bernthal’s The Punisher series ran for two seasons before Netflix and Marvel ended their partnership on the spate of shows they produced together. The Punisher is now available on Disney+.

It is worth noting that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson are not returning for Born Again as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. It is not clear if those characters will be recast or if they will simply not be part of the story.
