Jovian Wade Cast As Cyborg In DC Universe’s Doom Patrol

TVLine reports that Jovian Wade (EastEnders) has been cast as Cyborg in the upcoming DC Universe series Doom Patrol. He joins a cast that includes Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane and April Bowlby as Elasti Woman.

Doom Patrol is described as “a reimagining of one of DC’s strangest group of outcasts.” It will include the tema of Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane. Dr. Niles Caulder is their leader, as is Cyborg, as they all team up for “a mission that will take them to the weirdest and most unexpected corners of the DC universe.”

In the series, Cyborg (aka Victor Stone) is described as “the charming and sarcastic half-human, half-machine superhero known as Cyborg. Vic may be connected to every computer on the world, but he struggles to maintain the connections that make him human. Desperate to gain acceptance from the outside world, Vic harnesses the curse of his cybernetic body and uses his powers as the ultimate hero for the digital age.”

Jeremy Carver will be the showrunner and executive producer with Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns and Sarah Schechter. Beta testing is ongoing for DC Universe, which will launch in the fall. It will include original shows, library content, classic TV shows & movies, comic books, news and a DC encyclopedia. Annual membership will be $74.99 while the monthly membership will be $7.99.
