The call to release the so-called “Snyder Cut” of Justice League has been going on for two years, but now it has support from the film’s stars. Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) all posted to Twitter on Sunday within a couple of hours of each other with the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag.

Snyder himself joined in the calls for the release, replying to both Gadot and Affleck’s tweets. They join star Jason Momoa in publicly calling for the fabled cut of the film to be released.

Fisher previously discussed the cut of the film at Wizard World Portland in February, saying, “I’m familiar with the rumors…I’m familiar with some of the things that have been put out there as far as, you know, lost footage. I do remember distinctly filming that and some other things. But I think it’s pretty apparent to folks that there are a lot of things that didn’t make it into the movie. And some day, hopefully, we will be able to see what the fruits of those labors were. But I don’t really know anything beyond that.”

Today is the second anniversary of the film’s original release, and the hashtag has seen new life as a result with a #1 trending on Twitter earlier. Snyder confirmed in April that there is a cut of the film that is his, saying, “I mean, all I’ll tell you is, sure there’s a cut. It’s done. I have a cut. I have a bunch of them. So it’s not like…that’s up to them [WB].”

The final release of Justice League was the work of both Snyder and Joss Whedon, who stepped in to do script work, reshoots and editing when Snyder had to bow out due to a family tragedy. The cost of releasing the Snyder Cut would likely make the process prohibitive for WB, especially since the film lost the studio an estimated $60 million.
