Keri Russell in Talks to Join Guillermo del Toro’s Antlers

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Keri Russell is in talks to join the planned supernatural horror-thriller, Antlers, which is based on Nick Antosca’s short story A Quiet Boy. Scott Cooper is currently attached to direct the film from a script by Antosca.

Russell is in line to play “a teacher who takes an interest in a mysterious and withdrawn student. Only too late does she discover that the boy is harboring a deadly secret that is key to their town’s survival.” Del Toro is attached to produce the project with David Goyer and Miles Dale, who also produced The Shape of Water.

Fox Searchlight is looking to start filming Antlers later this fall in Vancouver. Russell also recently signed on for Star Wars: Episode IX, which is slated for a December 2019 release.
