Kevin Williamson Says Filming Has Begun On Scream 7
Filming has officially begun on Scream 7, as revealed by Kevin Williamson. Williamson took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal that production had started on the horror sequel, as you can see below.
Williamson wrote:
“I’m not supposed to post about Scream and I hope @spyglassmediagr and @paramountpics will forgive me but when you have one of the best days of your life it’s really hard to keep it to yourself. What an extraordinary day I had working with an amazing and talented cast and crew. They brought their “A” game and had my back every step of the way. I’m so very grateful for this opportunity and to Wes Craven who was on my mind through it all. The profound impact he has had on my life and career is endless. What a day! I can’t wait for tomorrow! #scream7”
Williamson is directing the film after having written the first, second, and fourth entries in the series. The new film is written by Guy Busick, who co-wrote the last two films. It will see the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott after she was out of Scream VI over pay issues, along with the returning Mason Gooding and Courteney Cox. New cast members include Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp and Isabel May, the latter of whom is reportedly playing Sidney’s daughter.
Scream 7 is set to release on February 27th, 2026.
