Krysten Ritter is headed back to television, as she will star in and executive produce a new Orphan Black spinoff series. Deadline reports that Ritter will star in the series, which is set within the universe of the sci-fi series that starred Tatiana Maslany and ran from 2013 to 2017.

The new series takes place in the near future and explores the scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal. Ritter will play one of the women, Lucy, who is described as having “an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world.”

Ritter had one of her breakout roles on AMC, the network producing Orphan Black: Echoes, when she co-starred as Jane in several episodes of Breaking Bad. Before that, she was known for her role as Gia in Veronica Mars, a role she reprised in the 2014 movie. Since Breaking Bad she has gone on to star in the beloved but short-lived series Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 and, of course, Jessica Jones for Marvel and Netflix.
